This mould would have made amulets that were exceedingly popular during the New Kingdom. Featuring either one or two suspensions loops, the amulet would have been used as part of a broad collar necklace. Moulds such as this would have been used to create an abundant supply of amulets. A large number of moulds have been found at the site of Amarna, implying that this was a centre for production.
