A large part of ancient pottery works were designed for tableware use, in particular for carrying and serving water and wine at banquets. Jugs, juglets and flasks, the most frequently used containers, existed in various dimensions and shapes. Jugs are one-handled vessels with a neck, and these include juglets, tankards and pitchers. It is a common shape for vessels during all historical phases. Round-based jugs dominated the Early and Middle Bronze Ages.
